Involvement
“Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart.” (I Peter 1.22)
There are many ways for you and your family to be involved at the Church of Christ at Farmington. We participate in a wide variety of ministries, programs, and activities which offer the opportunity for building relationships with other Christians and serving others:
- On Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, we have Bible Classes for all ages.
- The Dorcas Room is a clothing room we operate which serves the needy in the community.
- Many of our young people and adults are involved in Lads to Leaders & Leaderettes, a Bible-based youth leadership program for students from Kindergarten through high school.
- In the Fall, the Old-Time Country Fair is a fun time for games, food, and fellowship for the whole church family.
- The Quilting Ladies get together once a month to make quilts for Children’s Homes, hospitals, victims of house fires, and more.
- Secret Sisters is a program designed to build closer relationships among the ladies of the congregation. Based on information sheets which are filled out, ladies buy small gifts for their Secret Sisters and pray for them throughout the year.
- Sunday Potluck Meals are held on the second Sunday of each month following morning services and are a great time for fellowship.
- Beginning in September of every year and running through May, we have Thursday Bible School, a free of charge, Bible-based preschool for children from our area.
- Vacation Bible School happens every summer and is a fun and encouraging event which involves the entire congregation.
- We have Wednesday Night Fellowship Meals during the school year which provide a great opportunity for us to spend time together.
- World Bible School is a correspondence Bible study program which allows our members to work together to share the Gospel message with people all around the world.
- The Young Adults Group is a diverse group comprised of college students, single professionals and young families which have a Bible class and also meet for various events throughout the year.
