Lads to Leaders and Leaderettes

At the Farmington Church of Christ, we are very involved in the Lads to Leaders & Leaderettes program. If you are unfamiliar with this program, here is a description from the Lads to Leaders website:

“Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes is the oldest and largest leadership training program used by the churches of Christ today. It is a tool churches of Christ can use to help prepare their youth and adults for service in the Kingdom of God and help develop their overall leadership potential.

The goal of Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes is to provide churches of Christ with effective, year-round leadership training tools that can be adapted to individual congregational needs.

The purpose of Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes is to help local congregations instill the Word of God into youth and adults so that they will stand firm in the faith.”

Each year on Easter weekend, the program culminates in the Lads to Leaders & Leaderettes Regional Convention where thousands of people meet to compete in and judge various events. We have participated in Conventions in Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee in the past, and this year, traveled to Dallas, Texas.

We have been involved in the Lads to Leaders program since 2000, and during that time, participation has gradually increased, as each year, 70-80 young people and adults make the trip to the Convention.
